Sunday Post #18

Posted 17th June 2018 by Wattle in Blog Hops & Memes / 16 Comments

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly at Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

I feel like I say this a lot; I didn’t mean to disappear for a couple of weeks πŸ˜† I saw a plastic surgeon shortly after my last post, and then a week later had my skin cancer removed (right after I’d done up a list of posts I want to make). It was much more involved than I was expecting, and I still have a bandage on my face (it will hopefully be gone in 48 hours). I’ve not felt like sitting at my computer, because wearing my glasses isn’t exactly comfortable at the moment πŸ™

The World Cup has started. I’ve only watched one game: France vs Australia. I don’t support Australia (I’m not patriotic) so was going for France, pretty pleased with the result. My team (Germany!) is playing tonight, I’m looking forward to it – although my expectations are low this time round (which seems the opposite of everyone else haha).

NEW ON MY SHELVES

Bought:
I got the paperback copy before Amazon USA (and all global stores) stop shipping to Australia (they’ve decided our tax regime is too hard to deal with, so will default to the crappy AU store that’s only good for ebooks imo!) πŸ™„

And some new lovelies for the Kindle – I already had the first book in the box set, but it was cheaper to buy it again with the next two πŸ™‚ Yay for sales!

Borrowed:
None!

  1. Yay for the World Cup! I haven’t watched a game yet, sadly, but hope to in the coming days. And hope your surgery discomfort goes away soon!

Flipped for Murder looks fun. πŸ™‚

  2. I don’t follow soccer but had I been I’d definitely be cheering the Aussies on.

May I ask how you found out you’ve got skin cancer? I worry for my Hubby as when he’s at work he is just under the scorching sun. Hope all goes well in your recovery.

  3. I have heard a little about the issues with Amazon AU and that sucks! I never realized that the stores would be different and that it would affect people in other countries differently! Thats crazy! Glad to hear you got the skin cancer taken care of. My mom had skin cancer in multiple places and had to have multiple different methods of removal. Hope you heal quickly!

  4. OH MY GOD YOU HAVE SKIN CANCER?! Holy crap I really hope you get better. And although I don’t watch the World Cup myself, I hope you enjoyed it! And you see you got yourself a murder mystery (which is my favorite too).

  5. I don’t really follow the World Cup, but glad to hear you enjoy it. Also I hope the healing goes well and that things will get better soon!

    Have a great week!

  6. The bandage on the face sounds like a pain. I can see why glasses would be challenging. I’ve had a couple removed but they were on my arms which wasn’t a big deal thankfully! That’s too bad about the shipping changes and how frustrating to not be able to get the books you want. I love that Kym Roberts series and keep meaning to start the Maddie Day series. Have a great week!

  7. I’m glad the skin cancer is gone! Sorry your glasses are a bit uncomfortable to wear. I hope that feels better soon. πŸ™‚ I haven’t watched the World Cup, though I do like soccer. I hope your team wins. πŸ™‚

  8. I am glad the surgery is behind you and hope you have a smooth recovery. Lethal Literature has a cute cover! I hope you are enjoying your current reads! Your new books all look good, especially Flipped for Murder! I hope you have a great week.

  9. So glad the removal went well Bre, hope you’re able to relax and take some time for yourself darling. I’m not much of a soccer fan but caught the Australia verses France match and it reminded me of why I don’t typically watch it, it’s incredibly frustrating when compared to our footy here. The theatrics are terrible, lord those boys aren’t winning any awards. I hope you’re able to catch a few great matches while you’re recovering honey and take all the time that you need β™₯β™₯β™₯

  10. Sounds like you had a lot going on these past few weeks. I hope that spot where the skin cancer you got removed will heal well. I don’t really care for watching sports, so I don’t watch the world cup, but I hope you’re enjoying watching the matches. And I think it’s fun your for a different team than your own country. I hope you’ll enjoy Flipped for Murder, it’s one of my favorite cozy mystery series :).
