Sunday Post #15

Posted 14th January 2018 by Wattle in Blog Hops & Memes / 39 Comments

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly at Caffeinated Reviewer. Itโ€™s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

This week hasn’t been very exciting. I’ve gone to work, come home, read books. We did find a restaurant at lunchtime on Friday that has 7 types of chicken parmigiana, that was a bit of a thrill ๐Ÿ˜†

(All book covers in this post will take you to their respective Goodreads pages).

I’ve removed Origin and A Caribbean Mystery from my current reads, just because I know I won’t even look at them until I get through The Morganville Vampires series…or get sick of it, whatever comes first! I’ve read a couple of them this week, and just keep going; I’m blaming the cliffhangers at the end of each book – which are driving me crazy. Someone at the library (I found the rest of the books!) is a few books ahead of me, I’m hoping I don’t catch up before they’re done!

Book Review: Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh

Who knows? I do plan to draft some reviews this week though.

For Review:

I had a goal to not request any books for review this year, but I’ve already failed ๐Ÿ˜† I just couldn’t resist this m/m romance (I’ve not read the rest in the series, hopefully that doesn’t matter).

  1. All those Morganville covers are awesome, which I think I’ve mentioned before, but some covers are just like that. Glad they’re good too! And 7 types of chicken parm? That sounds really yummy actually lol .

Hope you have a great week!

  2. Seven types of chicken parmigiana is pretty impressive. I had a chicken parmigiana sandwich for lunch this afternoon that was really good. I haven’t read the Morganville books, but they sure sound good! I love those covers. I hope you enjoy them! Have a great week!

  3. Siran

I once and to remove a book from my currently reading list in order to finish another book. I am sure that many readers do have to do that at least once.

  4. BAHAHA, I never actually bothered to finish the Morganville Vampires books. I read the first one a few years ago, and the writing style just wasn’t for me. I can’t even remember if there was a cliffhanger at the end of the book! Anyway, I hope you do end up enjoying the series. Happy reading! ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • Honestly, they’re not great but they’re not terrible (they have their moments though, goodness me lol) I figure I’m at the point of no return, I have to finish them!

  5. Snap I failed at not requesting a new book this week too. NetGalley knows just how to tempt me! But we could be doing worse, right?! Love when I find a new series that I love and just want to keep reading. Hope you don’t fall out of love with yours anytime soon, and that your library person is a fast reader! I’ve no idea what chicken parmigiana is! Sounds Italian? But 15 types sounds like you have lots of experimenting to do.
    Have a good week ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Haha right? NetGalley is the best/worst ๐Ÿ˜›

It is Italian, I think…or maybe it’s an Americanised thing (wouldn’t surprise me). Basically crumbed chicken breast, with napolitana sauce and topped with mozzarella; served with salad (some serve it with pasta, but that’s too much for me!)

  6. Seven types of parmigiana you say? Where oh where can we find this delicious insanity? I’m a big fan of a nice parmigiana, it’s hard to find one these days and making them at home isn’t the same. I’ve always Bern curious about the Morganville Vampires series actually, I even bought book one but they were recommended to me years ago along with the Vampire Academy and Bloodlines and those two series made me lose interest. I might sneak in a read and see how I go seeing you’re addicted, it’s been a while since I’ve binge read a series.

    • Actually 8 if you count the original that I forgot about! It’s at a place called The Groove Train. Not sure if they operate over there, but if they do it’s worth a try ๐Ÿ™‚

To be perfectly honest it’s not the best set of books I’ve ever read, but for some reason I just have to keep reading, you know? I wanted to stop at one point, but I’ve come too far now!

  7. The morganville vampire series is one I still need to finish. I think I got to book 10 maybe. When am reading a series I have to keep going and finish it if all the books are available so I understand why you took the other books of you currently reading list. Have a great week.

    • I’m on book 10 now (I nearly gave up a couple of books ago lol). I read earlier that it’s not technically finished ๐Ÿ˜ฎ after 15 books, geesh. Hopefully it gets enough of an ending to be satisfying!

  8. OMG! I would love to go a restaurant that has 7 types of chicken parmigiana! My husband family is from Italy, so we eat a lot of italian food at our house. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m glad to hear you are still enjoying the Morganville Vampire series. Happy reading.

  9. Quiet weeks are the best weeks and yes please send me 7 types of Chicken Parm! lol That sounds amazing!

Love the covers of the Morganville Series, I failed at grabbing too this week but oh well! LOL

I hope you have a great week, Wattle! Happy Reading! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • I tried one that had salsa and nachos on top of it, it could have been better tbh but it was okay ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope you had a great week!

  10. Sometimes a not exciting week can be good too. I am excited to see you got the first Spell and Caramels book, I am really enjoying that series and just finished book 4 this week. Glad to hear you’re still enjoying the Morganville Vampires series so far, have a great week!

  11. I got accepted for Losing It too – I’m kind of a sucker for requesting m/m romance. LOL I’ve read all the others, and I think you can easily read them as standalones. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Yay, I hope you enjoy it! I guessed by all the synopsis that it was okay as a standalone, if it’s good I’ll have to go back and read the rest of the series ๐Ÿ™‚
