Sunday Post #4

Posted 15th October 2017 by Wattle in Blog Hops & Memes / 20 Comments

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog and showcase books and things we have received. Share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

Our weather has turned and it’s starting to become warm. I am not ready for summer! It is allegedly spring (my allergies agree) but it’s almost at the point where I’m considering breaking out my fan at night. I’m not quite there yet though, there’s apparently some sporadic winter weather on its way. I’m not sure I believe it, looking at the blue sky right now!

My iron infusion went well, although it took 50 minutes instead of 15, but they knew I was a challenge beforehand πŸ™‚ I had to lay there and watch morning tv, the horror.

(All book covers in this post will take you to their respective Goodreads pages).

I just started this one this morning, it’s moving VERY quickly. The crime took place within the first 8%, we just dived straight in to the story (and there’s a super obvious suspect I’m assuming didn’t do it!)

Sunday Post #3
Review of Here Comes The Witch by Ani Gonzalez

Book Review: Debauched by Jennifer Dawson
Book Review: Christmas at the Gin Shack by Catherine Miller

It turns out I have a period of time where I thought I’d reviewed books and didn’t πŸ™ so I’ll be slowly making my way through those over the next few weeks.

Origin and The Furthest Station are both really pretty hardcover books, the latter being a novella. The rest are Kindle versions.

Apparently I can’t resist a sale when it comes to ebooks!

For Review:

I was up until just before 2:30am this morning reading this baby. I thought it’d take me the weekend to read my way through it, but I could not put it down. It’s been a long while since a book did that to me!

  1. So this is the part when I realize where in the world you are πŸ˜€ because over here, it’s slowly nearing winter! I would be so ready for summer. Although autumn is my favorite season still, even despite all the cold rain.
    Glad your infusion went well!
    Have a wonderful week πŸ™‚

    • It’s all backwards over here. Summer at Christmastime, ridiculous really πŸ˜›

Thank you! I hope you’ve had a wonderful week so far πŸ™‚

  2. ooooh Origin!! I’m waiting for the audiobook from the library – I already know it will be very entertaining.
J.T. Geissinger has been someone I heard good things about. I might just have to pick up one of her books.

    • Oooh they’d probably make good audiobooks too, I’d never thought about it until right now! I love those books, they’re just fun to read πŸ™‚

I’ve heard good things too! Looking forward to reading them eventually lol

  3. I can’t resist a sale on ebooks either. No self control at all when it comes to books! Glad your injection went okay, even if it took awhile.
We are having bouts of summer hanging on here. I keep waiting for fall, but summer is NOT ready to let go.

    • It’s funny how the seasons are becoming, we seem to mainly just have summer and winter, as they’re both getting so long πŸ™ I miss having 4 distinct seasons, although Spring is trying pretty hard right now!

    • I love winter! But to be fair, our winters are mild compared to everyone else. It doesn’t ever snow, it rains a bit, storms a bit, but is mostly just cool (not below freezing) and dry lol but our house feels like a freezer because it’s all tile and wood floors.

Thank you πŸ™‚ hope you’re having a good week so far!

  4. So glad it went well Bre and hoping you’re starting to feel a little better. Morning TV is punishment in itself. We’re having a spot of warm weather too. Yesterday was only 28 here but even cooking dinner I was moaning and had to put the air conditioning on. Ooh Dan Brown has a new one out! The hubby will be interested in that one too. Have a wonderful week of reading Bre and hope you’re feeling better sweetheart <3 <3

    • I got to watch bits of both Today and Sunrise, I don’t understand why people watch them voluntarily? lol so bad.

It got up to 32 or something here late last week and I thought I was going to spontaneously combust! Getting in my car after work was gross, summer is going to be awful πŸ™ I’ve got no idea how I survived living up north, where the house air con would die when it hit 40 degrees. I used to walk around in jeans and long sleeve shirts when it was 32 degrees haha

  5. It’s slowly getting winter weather here. Sorry to hear it’s getting so warm there. Glad to hear your iron infusion went well, I hope you feel better now. That’s great you had a book you couldn’t put down.
