Life Happens #3

Posted 22nd March 2017 by Wattle in Life Happens / 7 Comments

I was going to do my monthly review for February, but then realised I don’t have all my data tallied so…that’s not going to happen!

I really didn’t mean to neglect my blog for a month (I’m actually having trouble with the fact it is indeed, one whole month!) but uni started again and for the first week it was fine, the second it was not. I dropped a unit, picked up another, dropped that too and am sticking with Chemistry for this semester. Adding anything else on top just seemed too hard.

For a couple of weeks I didn’t read a thing, but somewhere along the way I have become obsessed with the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews. Goodness me. I’m up to book 4 (yes, I went and bought ALL OF THEM in paperback haha) and it is SO good, I sure hope it stays that way!

The fact I’ve been neglecting my blog means I totally and completely failed the Blog Ahead challenge *sigh* I got a grand total of zero posts done. Ooops! So I’m just going to have to wing it for a while, I’m hoping I’ll find some motivation somewhere to get some drafts done up at the very least.

My motto these days is to not stress and take care of myself first. So I imagine my posting will be totally sporadic (now I’ve said that, I bet it ticks over like clockwork ๐Ÿ˜› ) but I am still around. Off to catch up with some blogs now, I’ll have actual content soon (I hope!)

  1. Totally understandable, hun! I get into one of these lulls as well but what can you do, right? ๐Ÿ™‚ I so need to catch up to that series! I might have to use my Audible credits to get started on this series.

Have a great rest of the week!

  2. Sounds like you had a busy month! I think it’s a good idea to focus on taking care of yourself first and not stressing. I also have been taking that approach with my blog lately, I almost completely stopped with my discussion posts as I can’t find time to write them, I figure I can always pick it up again when I find the time.

I think I only read the first Kate Daniels book and thought it was meh, I might pick up again one day as I heard good things about the series and people say book 2 is better, so who knows. Glad to hear you’re enjoying it. It’s fun to find a new series you like and being able to binge read it.

  3. Balancing school and blogging is precarious at best. I am so excited you are devouring Kate Daniels. I listened to them on audio and was listening to 2 or 3 a month until I caught up.

  4. That is a good motto ๐Ÿ™‚ And school can be stressful and time-consuming, so it’s understandable that you weren’t able to get any blogging in. The beginning of the semester is always the most difficult. Glad you’ve found some great books that you’re loving though!

  5. I’m so sorry you’re struggling at the minute Bre, I can’t even imagine juggling uni and blogging. After all that take home work the last thing you would feel like doing is blogging, it would become such a chore. It sounds like reading is the perfect destress though and I’ve heard wonderful things about Ilona Andrews with so many readers singing her praises. I’m relieved you’re taking care of yourself sweetheart. I’m always on Twitter if you want to hit me up for a chat <3 <3

  6. aw I’m sorry, real life does come first doesn’t it ? ;/ hope things balance out for you soon and you can enjoy both. Oh but Kate Daniels! Yes,isn’t that series just amazing? I myself love it.
